Bio: Melbourne Surge Water Polo Club has training in water polo and synchronised swimming with an inclusive, fun loving and active team. The Melbourne Surge are are Victoria's only gay and lesbian water polo and synchronised swimming club. The Melbourne Surge club compete locally in Victoria's state competitions and have interstate matches against their sister club the Sydney Stingers and also play on the world stage at the Gay Games.

The Melbourne Surge Club have lots of people who are learning to play polo or synchronised swimming for the first time and building fitness and more competitive players who have been playing for a long time. A good mix of this group recently took out the silver medal in the top level competition at the Gay Games in Cologne.

The Melbourne Surge water polo club have establishment a synchronised swimming team, named the "Surge Synchronised Swimming Squad". These teams Water polo and Synchronised Swimming has nationally-ranked athletes, the teams are Coed.

The coach is Leanne Kelly who has many years of playing and coaching water polo at a top level and have secured one of Melbourne’s top synchronised swimming coaches for the squad who has been instructing the synchronise squad since late in 2006.

The Melbourne Surge Club water polo squad and Synchronised Swimming Squad train every Sunday from 2.30 to 4.30pm at Melbourne High (corner of Alexandra Pde and Chapel St, South Yarra, VIC).
