Bio: The Frankston Australian Clay Target Club is equipped with four main shooting disciplines on the Shooting Grounds:
DTL 6 grounds
Skeet 4 grounds
ISSF Trap 2 grounds
Five Stand 1 Layout

Down the Line (DTL):
A round of DTL consists of 25 targets shot from five shooting stations set on a 15 metres arc from the trap. Targets are voice released from a single oscillating trap and travel approximately 46 meters at an angle no greater than 22.5 degrees either side of centre at an average speed of 43 MPH.

Skeet:
A round of skeet consists of 25 targets shot on a semi-circular layout with two trap houses, the left being the high house, the right the low house. There are 8 shooting stations. One shot only may be fired at each target. Squads consist of 5 shooters, each takes his turn to shoot from the shooting station, and these are numbered from 1 to 8.

ISSF Trap (Olympic Trap):
A round of ISSF Trap consists of 25 targets shot from five shooting stations set along a 15 metres line from the traps. Each shooting station has 3 traps set at pre-determined angles, 15 traps in all. Targets are voice released from and travel between 60 and 75 meters at an angle no greater than 45 degrees either side of centre at an average speed of 63 MPH.

Five Stand:
A round of Five Stand consists of 25 targets shot from a line of five caged shooting stations to prevent shooting outside the allowable parameters. 5 targets are shot from each shooting station before moving to the next station.


Beginners/Groups/Corporate Shoots:
Beginners - If you have never shot a firearm don’t have a gun licence but would like to try clay target shooting, click on the OzShooting link below.

Groups – If you and some friends would like to try clay target shooting as a group, special event such as a birthday or bucks party, click on the OzShooting link below.

Simulated Field & Game:
VFGA Simulated Field & Game shooting is conducted on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month by arrangement with the Frankston VFGA Branch.

To shoot unsupervised on the FACTC grounds you must hold an appropriate current shooters licence and be a member of the club. See membership>Type of Membership & Fees.
