Bio: Fairfield Canoe Club was established in 1919 on the banks of the Yarra River, downstream from the present clubhouse. FCC is one of the oldest canoe clubs in Australia and has a rich and varied history. Fairfield Canoe Club is a dynamic club on the banks of the Yarra River with a friendly club culture and rich history that spans 90 years. Fairfield Canoe Club is a Co-Operative and is therefore owned by it's members. The club offers a successful four-week beginner course, regular training sessions, coaching, a newsletter, weekly e-News bulletin, access to a fleet of beginner and intermediate club-owned boats and allocated storage racks for private boats.

Fairfield Canoe Club has a strong tradition in teaching people to paddle and runs a variety of courses throughout the year. All courses are run at the clubhouse in Fairfield on the Yarra River and are usually held on a Sunday morning. (Also Saturdays on demand). All participants must confirm that they are able to swim 50 metres which is our minimum safety standard. These public courses are open to males and females over the age of 10 years old. Each course is limited to 6 participants for safety and coach-student ratio. Courses can be booked and paid for on-line through the club’s website.
